O R D E R

The petitioner who apprehends attest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 127(8), 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 351(3) of BNS 2023 in Crime No. 683 of 2025, registered on the file respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner herein is a college lecturer, and while the de-facto complainant was studying in Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College, Perambalur, joined hands with other accused and induced the de-facto complainant to get liquor from his father, unless, the petitioner herein would reduce the internal marks. After some time, the de-facto complainant refused to acceed his demand. Based on the same, the petitioner joined hands with other accused, instigated and attacked the de-facto complainant, and caused severe injuries using an iron pipe to the de-facto complainant. Hence the complaint.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that due to the previous enmity, a false case has been lodged and he has not committed any offence and some of the students have attacked the de-facto complainant and he was not aware about the incident. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to furnish sufficient solvent sureties for his release. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that he strongly objected for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner on the ground that there are serious allegations levelled against him and that the petitioner misused his position as a lecturer for his own benefits. 5.Considering the fact that the petitioner misused his position and obtained various benefits including the liquor from the de-facto complainant who is a student in the college and also attacked the de-facto complainant by engaging some persons, and caused severe injuries using an iron pipe, hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 09.01.2026 MSM 1.The Inspector of Police Perambalur Police Station (L&O) Perambalur, Crime No. 683 of 2025.
