PRAYER in W.P.No.16848 of 2000: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a Writ of Declaration to declare that the provisions of Section 8-A of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act of 1982 (Act 33 of 1982) as inserted by the Admendment Act 26 of 1993 and the consequential Government Orders and the Scheme framed thereunder are illegal, arbitrary and ultra vires the provisions of the 1982 Act and the Scheme insofar as the petitioner is concerned.
