Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2017 and consequently direct the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting the orchestra program to be performed by the Raaga Sangeetha Nila Innisai Kuzhu on 15.04.2017 at 7.00 p.m.

ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to grant permission and provide protection to conduct Orchestra (Light Music Programme) in the event of the temple festival of Sri Veera Aanjinayer Holy Temple situated at Kalambur Village, Thiruvannamalai District, scheduled to be held on 15.04.2017.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 07.04.2017 to the first respondent, seeking permission to conduct the said orchestra programme, scheduled to be held on 15.04.2017. However, till https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

date, no order has been passed by the first respondent. Hence, this writ petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has no serious objection in conducting the said programme, but he submitted that the programme shall not be allowed to be performed till midnight.

4. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.04.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra in the event of Sri Veera Aanjinayer Holy Temple festival, scheduled to be held on 15.04.2017 subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme". It is also made clear that the programme shall be performed only till 10.00 p.m.
