ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.676/2014 pending on his file and file a final report within a specified time.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one C.Lakshmi Devi and others, he has lodged a complaint with the respondent police on 29.04.2013. Since no action was taken on the said complaint, he has approached this Court by filing Crl.O.P.No.30660 of 2013, which was by order dated 09.12.2013, disposed of directing the respondent to conduct enquiry and register a case, if any cognizable offence is made out. Thereafter, the complaint of the petitioner was registered as FIR in Crime No.676 of 2014 for the offences punishable under Sections 465, 468, 471 and 420 IPC, on 14.06.2014. However, till date, no progress was made in the said case. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.676 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
