O R D E R

This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to produce the detenue, namely, Velu Nachiyar, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the father of the detenue. It has been stated in the petition that the petitioner's daughter was missing since 9.1.2015. In spite of diligent search made by the petitioner, his daughter was not traced. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the second respondent by a registered post with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

acknowledgment due. Since no effective steps had been taken by the second respondent Police, the petitioner had filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the detenue was produced before us by the second respondent Police. On enquiry, the detenue stated that she had a love affair with the third respondent and she had left the home on her own. She denied illegal detention by any one. The school record, namely, the Higher Secondary School Certificate produced by the petitioner discloses that she has completed the age of 18 years as on 10.2.2015.

4. In such circumstances, as the detenue is a major and since she expressed her unwillingness to go with her parents, she is permitted to go as per her wish. As no further orders are necessary, we find it appropriate to close the Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
