O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings in crime No.7 of 2018.

2. The respondent police have registered an FIR agaist the petitioner for offence under Section 366(A) of IPC. This FIR was registered based on the complaint given by the mother of the victim.

3. Today, the victim girl is present before the Court and she stated that she was born on 16.10.2000 and she is a major. She further stated that she married the petitioner on 29.11.2018 and the same was also registered before the District Registrar Office, Coimbatore. The birth Certificate and Transfer Certificate of the victim girl has been placed before this Court. The Marriage Certificate has also been placed before this Court.

4. This Court examined the victim girl and she categorically stated that she is living with the petitioner after marriage and the marriage has been accepted by the family of the petitioner. The victim girl has also filed an affidavit before this Court praying to quash the FIR registered against the petitioner. The petitioner who was also present before this Court, stated that the marriage has been solomnized on 29.11.2018 and the same has also been registered. The petitioner further stated that he is working as a Manager in a private establishment and that he will take care of the victim girl and also help her in pursuing further with her education.

5. In view of the above, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the FIR pending. In the result, the FIR in Crime No.7 of 2018, on the file of the All Women Police Station, Velur, Namakkal District, is hereby quashed. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
