Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent, District Revenue Officer, Dharmapuri, to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 20.03.2013 after granting a personal hearing to the petitioner and her advocate.

Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 20.03.2013 arising out of patta proceedings.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said appeal is still pending before the second respondent without passing orders on the same on merits.

4. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the matter as it is for the 2nd respondent to consider and decide. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of only by directing the 2nd respondent to dispose of the said appeal on merits and in accordance with law after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. Such exercise shall be done by the 2nd respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
