This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus 1/5

directing the respondents to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner and to conduct the survey in the subject property and register the extent of the property in the FMB sketch and also in the revenue records. 2.

Heard Mr.Anusekar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.R.Gokul Krishnan,learned Additional Government Pleader for Respondents 1 and 2.

The case of the petitioner is that he is the owner of the subject property in Old Survey No.43/1 measuring a total extent of two acres. Acquisition proceedings were initiated by the National Highways department and an extent of 33 cents was acquired leaving the balance of 1.61 acres in the name of the petitioner. The compensation was also paid to the petitioner. The petitioner found that the measurement in the FMB sketch was not altered and necessary changes were not carried out in the revenue records and the earlier entry continued. Hence, he made an application / representation seeking for the survey of the property and for carrying out the necessary correction in the FMB sketch and the revenue records. Since the same was not acted upon, the present 2/5

writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 27.11.2024 and carry out the necessary corrections in the revenue records and in the FMB sketch within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. While undertaking the survey, the same shall be done in the presence of the National Highways Authorities. 5.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
