Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to take necessary action against the erring officials and Shankar son of Kadhirvel, Ko-Atthur Village, Rajendirapattinam Post, Srimushnam Taluk, Cuddalore District - 608 703 and do the needful for raising of the Petitioner's construction under the THANE HOUSING SCHEME based on the Petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2021. O R D E R
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to take necessary action against the erring officials and the 3rd respondent.
2. The case of the petitioner is that, she is the beneficiary of Thane Housing Scheme and she is entitled to receive a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- for her house. For non disbursal of the said benefit amount in the proper manner to the petitioner, she filed the present Writ petition and this Court vide its order dated 28.01.2022, directed the respondents to pay the entire eligible amount to the petitioner on or before 03.02.2020, failing which, the District Collector, Cuddalore is directed to appear before this Court on 03.02.2022.

Pursuant to the order of this Court dated 28.01.2022, the officials appeared before this Court today and submitted that they have paid a sum of Rs.32,952/- for the lintel stage through ECS Transaction and they have undertaken that after completing the roof stage, the entire balance amount will be paid to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of completion of the roof stage.

In view of the fair submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Court directs the 1st respondent to personally enquire if any of the officials are misusing the power vested with them and collecting amount illegally from the beneficiaries and also the District Collector / 2nd respondent is directed to take necessary action against the erring officials who involved in the illegal collection of amount from the beneficiaries. The District Collector is directed to personally monitor the case and ensure that the entire amount is paid to the beneficiaries in time.
5. Accordingly, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
