Challenging the notification issued by the 2nd respondent, dated 23.02.2021 calling for selection for the appointment to the post of Director, Social Audit Society of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, the present writ petition has been filed on 07.01.2022.

2. Heard both sides and perused the documents available on record.

3. When this writ petition was taken up for hearing on 09.02.2022, the learned Additional Advocate General informed this Court that pursuant to the notification dated 23.12.2021, totally 127 applications were received by the department and on scrutinising the said applications, all the 127 applications did not satisfy the required qualifications as prescribed in the said notification, therefore, they could not proceed with the aforesaid selection process.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in view of the stand taken by the respondent that no candidates were selected to the said post, the present writ petition challenging the said notification will not give effect. Hence the learned counsel for the petitioner made request before this Court to grant liberty to seek remedy before the appropriate forum.

5. In view of above, the writ petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.

6. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to seek remedy before the appropriate forum, if necessary.
