Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus call for the records in D.O.No.122/2021-C2 passed by the 2nd respondent dated on 22.12.2021 and set aside the same and directing the respondents to produce the detenu viz. Muniyandi, S/o.Ramachandiran, aged 46 years, who is now detained in the Central Prison, Vellore, before this Court and set the detenu at liberty forthwith. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.) The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in D.O.No.122/2021-C2 dated 22.12.2021 detaining her husband as "Bootlegger", as contemplated under Section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.
The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.1838, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 05.04.2022 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
