[Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J] Petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents to grant permission and police protection for conducting "Cock fight" in the event of Pongal festival at S.No.1481, Unjalkadu, Kasilingampalayam Vilalge, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur District from 15.01.2020 to 17.01.2020 between 09.00 a.m. and 06.00 p.m. by considering the petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2019. 1/2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

It is the grievance of petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 31.12.2019 to respondents seeking permission and police protection to conduct "Cock fight" in the event of celebrating birth anniversary of late Chief Minister Dr.M.G.Ramachandran at S.No.1481, Unjalkadu, Kasilingampalayam Vilalge, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur District, scheduled to be held on 15th, 16th, 17th January 2020. Since no orders have been passed on the said representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents.

This Court, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, directs second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
