The Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for her willful disobedience of the order of this Court in Contempt Petition No.2740 of 2022 dated 17.03.2023.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the status report of the respondent was filed and the relevant portions are extracted hereunder:

"9.I respectfully submit that in compliance with the order passed by this Hon'ble Court. I took up the case for further investigation and gave a requisition letter to Thasildhar, Panruti and received the documents which were filed by the then Inspector of Police already. 10.I respectfully submit that after obtained the documents, I have conducted further investigation in this case and examined the following witnesses and recorded their further statements.

I. Syed Anithap Hussian - Observation Mahazar Witness II. Syed Anwar Hussian - Observation Mahazar Witness III. Kandasamy - De-facto complainant IV. Manigalai - Wife of Complainant V. Ragavendran - Son of de-facto complainant VI. Malathi - Dauther of de-facto complainant VII. Dhanaharini - Daughter of deceased VIII. Dr.Lavanya - Post Mortem Doctor IX. Sivaprakasam - 1st Investigation Officer (SI) 11.I respectfully submit that based on the statement of the witnesses, I have altered the offences under Section from U/s. 174 CrPC @ 498 (A), 306 IPC on 20.07.2023 and the same was forwarded to the Learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Panruti.

12.I respectfully submit that as soon as I secure the accused and complete the investigation and file a final report before the competent court in accordance with law.

13.I respectfully submit that I once again tender my unconditional apology for any wrong doing on the part of the respondent. I respectfully submit that I am having highest regards for the Honourable Court and the court directions. I am always obeying and complying the directions of the Honourable Court."

3.In the light of the stand taken by the respondent, there shall be a direction to the respondent to file final report before the concerned jurisdictional Court within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
