The name of the fifth respondent has been wrongly mentioned as the Municipal Commissioner, Maduranthakam Panchayat Union Office, Chengalpattu District (Erswhile Kancheepuram District) and it should be the Commissioner, Maduranthakam Panchayat Union Office, Chengalpattu District (Erstwhile Kancheepuram District). Registry is directed to carry out necessary amendment in the cause title.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to sanction and disburse all pensionary benefits, including arrears of pension from 01.10.2016 till date, together with interest at 18% per annum, to the mother of the petitioner herein.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's mother was initially appointed as Sweeper in the Elementary Education Department in the year 1982 at Budhur Panchayat Union Primary School and her services were regularized on 01.03.1992. As on 31.12.2009, arrears of pay and allowances amounting to Rs.10,00,734/- were sanctioned, but the same were

not released. Due to ill-health, she was retired on medical invalidation with effect from 30.09.2016. However, the invalid pension applicable to the employee, who was retired on the ground of medical invalidation, was not extended to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has repeatedly made representations from the year 2016 requesting the sanction of her pension. Till date, no action has been taken on the representations made by the petitioner. Hence, this Writ Petition has been filed.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondent Nos.2 to 5 are directed to pay invalid pension within a reasonable time fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents 2 to 5 to pay invalid pension to the petitioner if he eligible within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
