2. Today, this matter has been posted under the caption "For Clarification", with respect to the award of interest for the land acquisition made under the Special Enactment for Adi Dravidars.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners cited about the judgments made in support of his case wherein, the beneficiaries are entitled to interest, 'equally' irrespective of the Act under which the land is acquired. He drew the attention of this Court to the following judgments: (i) Nagpur Improvement Trust and others vs. Vithal Rao and others reported in (AIR) 1973 SC 689; and (ii) The Special Tahsildar Adi Dravidar Welfare Sathiyamangalam vs. Subramaniam and others in S.A.No.891 of 2007, dated 09.12.2009.
