Mr.S.N.Parthasarathy (in both W.P.'s) Government Advocate COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed by the respective petitioners seeking for a direction to the first respondent to dispose off the appeal preferred by them on 19.10.2016, at the earliest.

2. The case of the petitioners is that they have applied for possession of S.B.B.L. gun and accordingly the license to the petitioners to possess a S.B.B.L. gun was granted vide Licence No.T.748/31 and T.305/346 respectively. It is the further case of the petitioners that recently the petitioners sought for renewal of their S.B.B.L gun license and made an applications vide letter dated 13.11.2015 and 13.10.2015 respectively to the second respondent requesting the second respondent to renew the licence. Accordingly, the second respondent called the petitioners for enquiry vide https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Roc.No.26345/2015/M3 dated 14.09.2016. The petitioners attended the enquiry on 24.09.2016. Thereafter, the second respondent refused to renew the gun license on the ground that the petitioners did not possess any land of their own and therefore, there is no necessity to renew the licence in their favour. As against the orders of refusal passed by the second respondent, the petitioners preferred statutory appeals before the first respondent on 24.10.2016. Though the appeals were received by the first respondent on 24.10.2016, no orders have been passed till date. Hence, the petitioners have come forward with these Writ Petitions seeking for the aforesaid relief.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners as well as the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the appeals filed by the petitioners on 19.10.2016, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. These Writ Petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
