[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent police to produce the corpus of Anitha, W/o.Ravikumar, aged about 26 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Anitha, aged about 26 years, went missing from 09.12.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Veeranam Police Station Crime No.1076 of 2020 has been registered on 10.12.2020 for 'woman missing' and Anitha was secured on 04.02.2021 and produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court (Mahila Court), Salem, on 04.02.2021. 5.

When enquired by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Anitha appears to have told the Magistrate that she does not want to go with her husband. This has been recorded by the learned Magistrate and Anitha has been set at liberty as she is not a minor to be handed over to anyone.
