ORDER

The petitioner wants to celebrate a Temple Festival from 1.5.2015 to 8.5.2015 for which he seeks police protection.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner brought to my notice the earlier order passed by this Court in Criminal Original Petition No.13203 of 2013 on 24.5.2013 when a similar prayer was made by the petitioner in the said petition. Hence, he seeks similar order in this petition also.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor produced a letter addressed by the third respondent police to the Tahsildar, Chinnasalem Taluk, Villupuram District requesting him to conduct a peace meeting between the petitioner and the villagers, who are obstructing the conduct of the temple festival and come out with an amicable settlement. The third respondent police has also stated that they will provide sufficient bandobust on the directions of the Tahsildar.

5. In view of the fact that the Tahsildar is seized of the matter, it may not be proper for this Court to give direction to the respondent police for any protection. However, the third respondent police shall abide by the directions of the Tahsildar, Chinnasalem Taluk, Villupuram District.

6. This Criminal Original Petition is closed with the above direction.
