By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission stage itself.
2. Heard Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and Learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the Respondents, and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.
3. The Petitioner submits that he is owner of the land comprised in Survey No. 203/14 having an extent of 1 acre and 59
cents situated at Arali Village, Ulundurpet Taluk, Kallakurichi District. Wherein, the Petitioner is doing cultivation work. When the Petitioner requested the Respondents to sub-divide the said land, he was told to make an application through on-line. Therefore, the Petitioner made an application in No.2020/0105/33/296059 dated 17.12.2020 through online for subdivision and for issuance of patta in respect of the said land. In this regard, on 28.10.2021, the Petitioner has also given a representation to the First and Second Respondents. However, inaction on the part of the Respondents compelled the Petitioner to come before this Court by way of this Writ of Mandamus.
4. In reply to that, Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondents fairly submitted that the Respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders, on merits, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also based on the submissions made by the Learned Counsel for both sides, this Court does not propose to go into the merits of the contention of the representation of the Petitioner. Without going into the merits of the matter, the Respondents are directed to consider the representation of the Petitioner and pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
