Respondent Prayers: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ or direction or order to directing the respondent to correct the petitioner son's name as R.Danushkumar instead of Ajithkumar, the petitioner as Rajamani instead of Raja and the petitioner wife's name as Uma instead of Ponnaya in the Register of Birth and Death of the respondent pertaining to the petitioner son's birth and also in the petitioner's birth certificate No.2501/2003 dated 03.03.2004 and consequently issue the corrected birth certificate within a period stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to correct the names of the petitioner ; his wife and his son in the Birth Certificate issued to the petitioner's son by the respondent. 2 Heard Mr.S.M.Muralidharan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.S.Suresh, learned Government Advocate for the respondent.

3 The case of the petitioner is that his son Danushkumar was born on 05.11.2003 at the Government hospital, Kallakurichi and his birth was registered on 18.11.2003 vide registration No.2501/2003 and a Birth Certificate was issued on 03.03.2004. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4 The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that his son is studying in 9th standard at Government High School, Gerugambakkam, Kancheepuram District and now only he came to know that in all official records, his son's name is wrongly mentioned as "Ajithkumar" instead of "Danushkumar" ; the petitioner's name was mentioned as "Raja" instead of "Rajamani" and his wife's name as "Ponnaya" instead of "Uma". So, immediately, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondent on 29.10.2017, to correct the mistake. Since, no action was taken, the petitioner is before this Court by filing the present writ petition.

5 The learned Government Advocate for the respondent submitted that the petitioner not only seeks correction of his son's name, but also the parents name and if all the relevant documents are produced, the application of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

6 In the light of the above facts, the petitioner is directed to produce all relevant documents to substantiate his case before the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such complaince, the respondent shall pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks thereafter, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

7 With the above direction and observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
