..Respondent(s) Prayer: This writ petition is field under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2022 and direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to credit the claim amount of Rs.2,00,000 /- with interest to the Petitioner's Indian Bank Savings Account No.572270816, Koothakudi Branch, kallakurichi District under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) Scheme.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2022 and directs the respondents 2 & 3 to credit the claim amount of Rs.2,00,000/- with interest.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that while the petitioner has received the principal policy amount of Rs.2,00,000/- as early as on 07.02.2023, he is entitled to interest on the said sum. Despite this entitlement, the interest amount has not yet been paid to the petitioner.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent would submit that in the event the petitioner makes any representation, seeking interest for the policy amount, the same will be considered by the respondents in accordance with law.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. Upon perusal of the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, it is noted that nothing has been mentioned regarding petitioner's entitlement in respect of interest for the aforementioned policy amount. Therefore, this Court

grants liberty to the petitioner to make a representation before the respondents, seeking interest for the policy amount. On such receipt, the respondents are directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
