O R D E R

Mr.M.Jothikumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. Mr.M.Varun Kumar, learned standing counsel takes notice for the third respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the third respondent to restore the service connection in Service Connection No.345-003-180, by collecting necessary charges.

3. It is stated that the petitioner is living in the subject matter property for many number of years and her husband passed away on 27.01.2017. It is further stated that due to sudden death of her husband, the petitioner was not able to maintain the house expenditure, which has resulted in not paying the electricity charges as well.

Therefore, the third respondent has disconnected the power supply. Now, it is stated that the petitioner's daughter is studying in 11th standard and without the electricity supply, she is finding it very difficult to continue her studies. It is further stated that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay the arrears of the electricity charges to the third respondent without any protest.

4. The learned standing counsel for the third respondent submitted that the electricity supply was disconnected two years back and there are huge arrears to be paid by the petitioner.

Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner would pay the entire arrears, as demanded by the third respondent, I do not think that there will be any impediment for the third respondent to restore the power supply to the petitioner, after collecting such charges. Therefore, it is for the petitioner to approach the third respondent and seek for the calculation of arrears of electricity charges. On receipt of such calculation, it is open to the petitioner to pay the same to the third respondent. On receipt of such payment, the third respondent will restore the electricity supply within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of such payment. No costs.
