Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from shifting the existing Joint-I Sub Registrar Office and Joint- II Sub Registrar office functioning at No.9, Jeenis Road, Saidapet, Chennai 600015 to flood affected SIDCO Electronics Complex at the Thiru-vi-ka Industrial Estate, Guindy and direct the respondents to identify suitable premise within the jurisdiction of Saidapet, viz. Panagal Maaligai, Saidapet Taluk Office or any suitable and convenient place for the general public by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2018.

(Order of the Court was made by THE HON'BLE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE) This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents forbearing them from shifting the existing Joint-I Sub Registrar Office and Joint- II Sub Registrar office functioning at No.9, Jeenis Road, Saidapet, Chennai 600015 to flood affected SIDCO Electronics Complex at the Thiru-vi-ka Industrial Estate, Guindy and to direct the respondents to identify a suitable premise within the jurisdiction of Saidapet, viz. Panagal Maaligai, Saidapet Taluk Office or any suitable and convenient place for the general public, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2018. 2.
When this writ petition was taken up, the learned Government Pleaders appearing for the respondents have submitted that the matter in the writ petition has become infructuous, since already the said Sub-Registrar Office has been shifted to Guindy Industrial Estate. A news about the shifting of the SubRegistrar Office, which has been reported in 'Dinamalar' Tamil Daily dated 02.08.2018, has also been produced before us. 3.In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently the connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
