Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue patta to the petitioners for the house sites they have occupied in SF No. 452 /1 and 427/ 1A2, karamadai village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District, by considering their representations dated 08.07.2024 and 09.12.2024 For Petitioner :

ORDER
Aggrieved by the fact that, despite submitting a representations on 08.07.2024 and 09.12.2024 for issuance of a patta, the patta has not yet been issued, the petitioners are before this Court. 3/6
2. It is the case of the petitioners that they belonged to the Arundhadhiyar Commuity, who do not have a house of their own. They have occupied the land in S.F.No.452/1 and 427/1A2, Karamadai Village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District and have constructed small houses made of tin sheets, where they have been residing for the past three and a half years. The said land is allocated for the Scheduled Caste persons. Therefore, the petitioners submitted representations on 08.07.2024 and 09.12.2024 to the respondents for issuance of patta. However, these representations have not been considered to date. Therefore, the present writ petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
4. Considering the fact that the representations have been made as early as on 08.07.2024 and 09.12.2024, for which the fourth respondent has not even commenced an enquiry. It is clear that he has failed in his statutory duties. Therefore, a mandamus is issued to the 4/6
fourth respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 08.07.2024 and 09.12.2024 and issue patta within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands allowed. No costs.
