This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to extend the time limit fixed by Judicial Magistrate No.I, Salem in the order dated 29.08.2022, made in C.M.P.No.2763 of 2022, in S.T.C.No.2224 of 2020.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Salem, in the order dated 29.08.2022 made in C.M.P.No.2763 of 2022, directed the petitioner to pay Rs.6,00,000/- towards 15% of the cheque amount, within a period of 60 days from 29.08.2022. Petitioner was not able to pay the amount within the time period set by the learned Judicial Magistrate. Therefore, this petition is filed seeking extension of time.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

This Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's inability to pay the amount within a period of 60 days from 29.08.2022, disposes this petition, giving direction to the petitioner to approach the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Salem. On filing of such petition for extension of time, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Salem is directed to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of filing of such petition.
