ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM,J.) The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the third respondent to grant one month leave to the prisoner. The prisoner is in actual imprisonment for 3 years, 5 months and 18 days. The Probation Officer's report reveals that the facts stated in the leave application are correct. The Probation Officer recommended the case of the prisoner for grant of ordinary leave.
2. Considering the facts and circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order:- (i) The prisoner, namely, Balachandar alias Praveen, S/o Gajendran, Convict No.8642 (PID No.70511) is granted 21 days ordinary leave without escort.
(ii)The leave shall commence from 03.02.2025 10.30 A.M., and the prisoner shall surrender before the third respondent by 5.30 P.M., on 23.02.2025.
(iii)The prisoner shall appear before the P-2, Otteri Police Station, Chennai twice in a week i.e., on every Monday and Thursday at 11.00 A.M. during the period of leave.
