ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents herein to provide police protection to the petitioner to vacate her house.

2. The petitioner is an accused in Cr.No.136 of 2018 and for an offence under Section 420 IPC, she was arrested by the police and was enlarged on bail by the orders of the Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvottiyur in C.M.P.No.853 of 2018 on 26.02.2018. In the FIR against the petitioner, it is alleged that she had collected deposit amount from the de facto complainant on the premise of getting loan and had cheated him. It is the case of the petitioner that after her release on bail, she is not being permitted even to go to her house, as the victims are creating problems. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is before this Court seeking police protection.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the State.

4. In the opinion of this Court, no blanket order of police protection can be granted. Even if a person is accused of crime, he has to be dealt with only in accordance with law. In this case, the petitioner has been arrested and released on bail. The respondent police shall ensure that no physical harm befalls the petitioner.
