ORDER
This writ petition has been filed in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction against the first respondent to examine the representation dated 03.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders.
2.In the affidavit file in support of the writ petition, it has been submitted that the mother of the petitioner P.Devaki was working as an NMR from the year 1971 to 1981 in the PWD department for more than 10 years. It had been stated that though others were made permanent, the mother of the petitioner was not granted that opportunity. She continued to work for about 32 years and then resigned the job on voluntary retirement service in the year 2022. A representation had now been given that the 50% of the period when the mother of the petitioner was working as NMR should also be taken into consideration for calculating the length of service for pensionary benefits. 3.Instructions have been forwarded by the learned Additional Government Pleader that on examination of the records of the mother of the petitioner, it had been observed that 50% of the service as an NMR from
01.03.1970 till 01.01.1981 would be taken into consideration and thereafter, the period from 01.01.1981 to 31.07.2002 would also be taken into consideration. It is thus stated that necessary orders in this regard would be passed. 4.A direction is given to the respondents to examine the representation given and rework the period of service put in by the mother of the petitioner by also taking into consideration 50% of the services rendered from 1970 to 1981 for the purposes of length of service for calculating pension. Appropriate orders in this regards must be passed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Necessary benefits must flow to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date on which such order is passed by the respondents.
