Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 18.07.2019 for the appointment of the son of the petitioner namely R.Imayavarman under the compassionate appointment.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner who is seeking for compassionate appointment to her son.

2.The case of the petitioner is that her husband was employed as Senior Grade Helper in the Electricity Department. He died while he was in service in the year 1990. At that time, the petitioner's children were all minors. Therefore, they were not in a position to claim for any compassionate appointment. The representation made by the petitioner seeking for compassionate appointment was also rejected by the 2nd respondent on the ground that the petitioner did not possess the basic educational qualification.

3.The petitioner made a representation seeking for compassionate appointment to one of her daughters and the same was rejected on the ground that she was already married. This was challenged before this Court by filing W.P.No.14995 of 2017 and the same is pending. In the mean time, the petitioner had made a representation seeking for compassionate appointment to her son, who according to the petitioner, is having all the qualifications. Since there was no response for the request made by the petitioner, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions. 4.Heard Mr.S.Doraiswamy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.P.R.Dhilip Kumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents. 5.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 18.07.2019 strictly in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with the copy of the representation dated 18.07.2019 and also a copy of this order. 6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No Costs.
