O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to directing the 1st respondent to transfer the investigation from 2nd respondent to an independent Agency preferably - CBCID to conduct further investigation and file a additional report in respect of Crime No.601 of 2012 on the file of Inspector of police, Virudhachalam Police Station, Cuddalore District.

2. It is seen that the investigation in Crime No.601 of 2012 is pending on the file of the 2nd respondent police. Now, almost seven years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.

3. However, considering that the crime is of the year 2012, the 2nd respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.601 of 2012 and file a final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not already filed.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
