ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus pertaining to the illegal custody or illegal detention of the detenue Raushani Singh, W/o. Rajesh Kumar Singh, F/A, 27 years, and consequently direct the respondents to produce the detenue before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that he got married to Raushani Singh and through the wedlock, he has a son, by name Rudra Pratap Singh, aged about 3 years. It is the grievance of the petitioner that her wife Raushani Singh went missing from 19.12.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Thirumullaivoyal Police Station Crime No.937 of 2021 has been registered on 19.12.2021 for "woman missing " and investigation is in progress.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Avadi, to supervise the investigation in Thirumullaivoyal Police Station Crime No.937 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Mrs. Raushani Singh, female, aged about 27 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Ambattur, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
