(Order of the Court was delivered by N.KIRUBAKARAN, J) The appeal has been preferred by the Management against the order passed by the learned Single Judge awarding a sum of Rs.50,000/- to the first respondent / workman while setting aside the award passed in favour of the first respondent, 1/2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
reinstating him with back wages.
2.Earlier, when the matter was called before this Court, this Court directed both the appellant and the first respondent to settle the matter. Pursuant to that, when the matter is called today, the learned Counsel for the appellant submitted that the matter has been settled and a sum of Rs.80,000/- has been paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the first respondent viz., D.D.No.359451 in Central Bank of India. Since the entire amount payable by the appellant including the interest has been paid by way of the above said Demand Draft, nothing survives in this appeal. Further, the appellant needs to be appreciated for taking efforts to settle the matter as per the observations made by this Court. This Court would also appreciate Mr.S.Haja Mohideen Gisthi, learned Counsel for the appellant for his efforts.
