This application has been filed under Section 29(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of mandate of the arbitral tribunal by further period of six months.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the applicant.
3. Though the learned counsel for the respondent's name has been printed in the cause list and the matter was also passed-over to enable the learned counsel for the respondent to appear and make a submission, there is no https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

4. The proceedings before the sole arbitrator are at the stage of advanced trial and the extension sought for is for the conclusion if the proceedings. I do not find any inordinate delay either on the parties or the arbitral tribunal's part. I am satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of the application necessitating for extension of time and time is extended for a further period of six months.
5. This application is allowed and favourable to the applicant and extension by six months from 10.01.2025.
