Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 to 5 to restrain the 6th Respondent from conducting Cart festival on 08.08.2018 in SRIVANGUR ARULMIGU SRI MARIAMMAN TEMPLE which is situated in Srivarungur village Kallakurichi Taluk Vilupuram District in pursuance of peace committee meeting which had been hold on 25.07.2018 in the presence of 4th Respondent.

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH,ACJ.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.E.Manohar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 5.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a mandamus directing respondents 1 to 5 to restrain the 6th Respondent from conducting Cart festival on 08.08.2018 in SRIVANGUR ARULMIGU SRI MARIAMMAN TEMPLE which is situated in Srivarungur village Kallakurichi Taluk Vilupuram District in pursuance of peace committee meeting which had been hold on 25.07.2018 in the presence of 4th Respondent.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is with regard to conducting of Cart festival by the private respondents and in that regard, he wants some action to be taken and thereby restrain them from conducting the festival. However, it appears that a decision had been taken by the Peace Committee and therefore, the District Magistrate or the Superintending of Police concerned would look into the situation based on the representation to be made and appropriate decision would be made in the manner known to law. However, the issue cannot be treated as of public interest except the grievance expressed by the petitioner. Accordingly the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
