Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to immediately take all such preventive measures including prosecution of offenders who sell the plastic carry bags to their customers.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have perused the affidavit filed by respondent No.4. The directions issued by respondent No.4 should be strictly enforced. We are conscious that howsoever well worded the directions are, ultimately the issue is implementation at the ground level and thus, proper care should be taken to take steps at the ground level, including endeavours to make change in the mind set of the people, which is the ultimate solution.
2. The directions noted in the affidavit of respondent No.4, be also communicated to the Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority for the purposes of popularising them.
3. No further directions are necessary and the writ petition is closed in terms aforesaid. No costs.
