The present writ appeals have been instituted challenging the common order dated 23.04.2010 passed in W.P.Nos.15707 to 15710 of 2009 and orders made in W.P.Nos.13259, 13260, 13261, 13262 of 2009 dated 03.08.2009, W.P.No.27421 of 2008, dated 19.01.2009 and W.P.No.19503 of 2010, dated 23.03.2011.
2. The Writ Court considered the issues and passed an order directing
the appellants herein to consider the applications submitted by the land owners and pass appropriate orders on merits by affording opportunity to the land owners. The said exercise had been directed to be completed within a period of eight weeks. However, the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, for whom the acquired lands were handed over by the Government, preferred these writ appeals.
3. Mr.P.Kumaresan, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the appellants would mainly contend that the Writ Court has directed the Housing Board to consider the applications on merits and pass appropriate orders. Though appeals have been preferred, now the authorities are willing to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law by affording opportunity to the land owners.
4. In view of the said submission, no further adjudication on merits needs to be undertaken. However, the appellants are directed to dispose of the applications submitted by the respondents on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order.
5. Accordingly, the writ appeals are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed.
