ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 23.12.2025 for the alleged offence under Section 179 and 180 of BNS in Crime No.547 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner printed counterfeit currency and deposited twelve numbers of 500 rupee notes into the teller machine of ICICI Bank, which was traced based on the video footage and the petitioner was arrested and has been in custody since 23.12.2025.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has been in custody since 23.12.2025 and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide with any conditions that may be imposed by this Court, and therefore, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has 3 previous cases, the printing and other equipments were seized from him. He further submitted that the investigation in this case is pending. Hence, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the manner in which the petitioner committed the offence, the pending investigation and his bad antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
