This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Alandur to dispose the case in C.C.No.293 of 2021.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the first accused in C.C.No.293 of 2021, is working as a Sub-Inspector of Police and he prevented the witnesses from appearing and giving evidence. Therefore, the present petition has been filed.

3. Prayer sought for in this petition is to dispose the case in C.C.No.293 of 2021 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Alandur, within a stipulated time. There is no statistics provided to this Court as to the volume of pendency of cases pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Alandur. Therefore, prayer for setting time line for the disposal of this case cannot be entertained. However, this Court directs the learned trial Court to dispose of the case as early as possible, taking into consideration the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the first accused in the capacity of the SubInspector of Police is preventing the witnesses from appearing and giving 2/4

evidence.

4. With the above observation and direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
