Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the 1st respondent from permitting the villagers for the performance of Kumbabishagam to the Arulmigu Sri Mahasakthi Mariyamman Temple at Olagadam Village and Post Bhavani Taluk Erode District which is scheduled to be held from 15.1.2022 to 17.1.2022 without due process of law.

Heard both sides and perused the records.
2. The prayer made in this Writ Petition to issue a Mandamus forbearing the 1st respondent from permitting the villagers for the performance of Kumbabishagam to the Arulmigu Sri Mahasakthi Mariyamman Temple at Olagadam Village and Post Bhavani Taluk Erode District which is scheduled to be held from 15.1.2022 to 17.1.2022 without due process of law.

Today, When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the second respondent had convened a meeting with the Olagadam villagers and the villagers after taking into consideration of the current pandemic situations and intimidating covid-19 have decided to cease the Kumbabhishekam to the Arulmigu Sri Mahasakthi Mariyamman Temple which is scheduled to be held from 15.01.2022 to 17.01.2022. Further, she also submitted a proceedings in Na.Ka.No. 365/2022 A3, dated 13.01.2022 to that effect. Hence, the learned Special Government 2/4
Pleader submitted that the prayer become infructuous.
4. The proceedings shall form part and parcel of this order.
5. In such view of the matter, this writ petition stands closed, granting liberty to the petitioner to perform the Kumbabhishekam to the Arulmigu Sri Mahasakthi Mariyamman Temple, Olagadam village, subsequent to the liftment of lockdown imposed by the State Government, if necessity arises. No costs. Consequently, the connected W.M.P.No. 671 of 2022 is closed. No costs.
