PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, praying to transfer the investigation in Crime No.1029 of 2014 on the file of the 1st respondent, J-4 Kotturpuram Police Station to the 2nd Respondent CB CID, Chennai or any other specialized independent Agency to investigate into the matter and file a final report to the concerned court. O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to transfer the investigation in Crime No.1029 of 2014 on the file of the 1st respondent, J-4 Kotturpuram Police Station to the 2nd Respondent CB CID, Chennai or any other specialized independent Agency to investigate into the matter and file a final report to the concerned court.

2. It is seen that the investigation in Crime No.1029 of 2014 is pending on the file of the 1st respondent police. Now, almost five years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.

3. However, considering that the crime is of the year 2014, the 1st respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.1029 of 2014 and file a final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not already filed.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
