Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 05.12.2018 within the time stipulated by this Court. The petitioner's name was not included in the panel for promotion to the post of Superintendent, which he challenged by way of W.P.No.17939 of 2008 and the said writ petition was allowed by an order dated 10.02.2010, directing the second respondent to revise the seniority by including the petitionr's name in the panel for promotion, taking into consideration the date of completion of probation as 01.04.1994. Even pursuant to the orders of this Court, the petitioner's name was not included in the panel for promotion and the petitioner has sent several representations to the second respondent in this regard, which did not evoke any response. The last representation of the petitioner was dated 05.12.2018. As the same was also not considered till date, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking appropriate relief.

2. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed on record.
3.In view of the limited relief sought for during arguments, this Court is of the view that it is not necessary to dwell into the merits of the issue, but it would be suffice to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on the same within a particular time frame.
4. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.12.2018, and pass orders thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
