PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 07.09.2018 for counting half of the service rendered by him as plot watcher along with his regular service as qualifying service for pension under the Tamil Nadu Pension Rules 1978 in the light of Government Letter No.22825/FR-2/2016-2, dated 02.02.2017, within a stipulated period of time.

Mrs.M.Lalitha, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner has come forward with this writ petition, for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 07.09.2018, within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.
3. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 07.09.2018 to the respondents to count half of the service rendered by him as Plot Watcher along with regular service as qualifying service for pension in the light of Government Letter No.22825/FR2/2016-2, dated 02.02.2017. However, the said representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. The Government Advocate appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered by the respondents on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.09.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing for the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
