J U D G M E N T

(Judgment of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) The petitioner's prayer for mandamus to consider his representation for grant of selection grade in the post of Record Clerk was rejected by the writ Court on the ground that the earlier representation of the petitioner seeking the very same prayer was rejected by the Authorities by order dated 09.10.2023.

2. Though the learned counsel for the appellant would contend that he has made a subsequent representation, that by itself cannot give a cause of action for issuance of a mandamus. Once a request has been made and it is rejected, it is for the petitioner to challenge the order of rejection. Hence, we see no reason to entertain the appeal. This Writ Appeal therefore, fails and it is accordingly, dismissed. No costs. It will be open to the petitioner to challenge the order dated 09.10.2023.
