This Writ Petition has been filed direction to give the police protection to the church of Jehovah Shammah at Church lane, Vepery, Chennai - 600 007 on meeting time on 13.01.2023 to 17.01.2023.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner/Jagarajan along with G.A.Wesley Samuel, T.David, Joshua Rajendra Prasad, Eves Nathaniyar are jointly running "The Church at Jehova Shammah Society". During the period from 13.01.2023 to 17.01.2023, Youth Camp is scheduled. For which, several youths from several states would come to participate in the Youth Camp. The petitioner apprehends that persons who had separated from the said Church would come and create problems at the Youth Camp. Therefore, petitioner given representation 05.01.2023 before the 1st respondent seeking police protection for smooth conducting of Youth Camp. So far, no order was received in this regard. Therefore present petition is filed. 2/4

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that there are two rival groups in the "The Church at Jehova Shammah Society". On an earlier occasion ie, on 02.03.2021, there was a dispute between the groups, for which enquiry was conducted in C.S.R.No.115 of 2021 and the same was disposed as "Adviced Judicial Remedy" and again on 23.03.2021 there was a dispute between them, for which, enquiry was conducted in C.S.R.No.159 of 2021 and the same was disposed as " Compromise Effected". He further submitted that the representation dated 05.01.2023 is available with the respondent police.

4. Considered the submissions made by both sides. This Court directs the respondent police to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2023 to provide police protection during the Youth Camp which is scheduled on 13.01.2023 to 17.01.2023 and pass appropriate orders.
