ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed seeking the indulgence of this court to initiate contempt proceedings

against the respondent, for his willful disobedience of the orders of this Court made in Crl.R.C.No.502 of 2017, dated 14.07.2017.

2.By Order dated 14.07.2017 in the aforesaid revision case, this Court has directed as follows: "21. As a sequel, the Inspector of Police, Sevvapet Police Station, Thiruvallur District is directed to take the complaint of the petitioner dated 12.10.2016 on file and investigate the same in accordance with law. It is made clear that while making such investigation, the complaint already filed by the respondent where the F.I.R was also registered, should also be correspondingly investigated and ultimately charge sheet if need be, filed in accordance with law, within the period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

22. With these directions, the Civil Revision Petition is disposed of."

3.According to the learned counsel for the revision petitioner, inspite of the said order having been passed by this court, no steps have been taken and no claim made by the petitioner as the complainant has been enquired into and the complaint was not even registered. Hence, the

petitioner has set the law in motion by filing the contempt petition with the aforesaid prayer.

4.During the last hearing Mrs.S.Thankira, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) after taking notice for the respondent submitted that, the present incumbent of the office of the respondent/Inspector of Police, Sevvapet Police Station has only recently joined and the copy of the order of this court sent had not been brought to his notice and hence, he wants a reasonable time to comply with the order of this court.

5.Today, when the matter is called, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, pursuant to the complaint given by the petitioner dated 12.10.2016, the respondent after having initial enquiry, has registered the complaint to investigate further in the matter. 6.Since the order dated 14.07.2017 made in the said Criminal Revision case, as has been extracted above, has been complied with at least now, as represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court feels that this Contempt Petition does not require any more adjudication.

7. In the result, recording the said submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Contempt Petition is closed.
