(Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter Karthika, aged about 17 years, before this Court and hand over to the petitioner.
2.The petitioner is the mother of the detenue. The petitioner has stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition that on 17.12.2019 her daughter left the house for work at Balaji Silks, Panruti, but, thereafter she did not return home. Despite search made by the petitioner with their relatives and friends, she could not succeed. Therefore, she gave a complaint to the second respondent police and a case has been registered in F.I.R. police has not taken any action, the petitioner is before this Court with the present Habeas Corpus Petition. 3.Today, when the petition is taken up for consideration, the detenue is produced before this Court. 4.On enquiry, the detenue submitted before this Court that she went along with one Ajithkumar and she expressed her willingness to go along with her mother/the petitioner herein. 5.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that after securing the detenue, the said Ajithkumar was remanded to judicial custody on 04.02.2020 under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012. 6.In view of the submission made by the detenue, nothing survives for further adjudication in this Habeas Corpus Petition.
