ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition filed as a public interest litigation under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeks direction upon respondents 1 to 3 to remove the encroachments made by respondents 4 to 9 comprised in S.Nos.332, 333, 334, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339, 340, 369, 370, 371, 372, 373, 374, 375, 376, 377, 378 and 379 ad-measuring an extent of around 75 acres situated at Adiyanur Village, Pethanaickanpalayam Taluk, Salem District classified as Anadeenam.
2. Learned State Counsel, on instructions, submitted that a detailed survey was conducted by the surveyor on 23.02.2026, wherein two encroachers have been found to have encroached land to an extent of around 19 acres. Notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 has been issued to the encroachers on 13.03.2026. After receiving reply, the authorities will proceed further in accordance with law and also remove the encroachments.
3. On the basis of the statement made by learned State Counsel, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the official respondents to complete the enforcement action in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There will be no order as to costs.
