ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pass an order in the Revision Petition dated 22.07.2023 filed by the petitioner within the time as may be fixed by this Court.

The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner filed an application in the year 2010 and 2012 before the Tahsildar, Egmore for issuance of Patta in her favour to an extent of 2975 Sq.ft. plus 840 Sq.Ft. based on the Sale Deed Nos.1893/2001 and 1894/2001 executed in favour of her late parents, whereas, the Tahsildar rejected the same vide order dated 07.03.2022 without conducting proper enquiry and without considering her grievance as contemplated under Section 10(3) read with Section 23 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act of 1983 (Act No.4 of 1986). Hence, the petitioner preferred an appeal dated 06.04.2022 to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Central Chennai Division, Anna Nagar West, Chennai and unfortunately, the Revenue Divisional Officer without application of mind, passed an order dated 13.07.2023 rejecting the appeal. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred a Revision Petition before the respondent herein/District Revenue Officer, Chennai on 22.07.2023 and after several 2/6

reminders, enquiry was completed on 31.10.2023. However, no order has been passed. Hence, the petitioner was constrained to file the present writ petition before this Court.

3. Mr.R.U.Dinesh Rajkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondent submitted that a direction may be issued to the respondent to dispose of the revision petition filed by the petitioner within a stipulated time as the case may be.

4. Heard and perused the materials available on record.

5. According to the learned Additional Government Pleader the revision petition filed by the petitioner has not been disposed of. Since revision petition is pending with the respondent from 22.07.2023 and this Writ Petition is filed for a simple writ of Mandamus, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondent to dispose of the revision petition filed by the petitioner dated 22.07.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, if already not disposed of, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
