With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition for issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to complete the course of B.Sc. (Agriculture) by permitting the petitioner to write final year examination in the upcoming examinations at April 2016 and also direct the respondents to issue the Diploma in Commercial Entomology Certificate.

3.The petitioner is the permanent resident of Tripura and completed secondary education with first class at Tripura during 2009 and also completed Higher Secondary during 2011. After completion of Higher Secondary, the petitioner came to Chennai for higher eduction and joined B.Sc Agriculture in the respondent University, the petitioner stayed at Chidambaram and started his studies.

Unfortunately on 28.04.2015, the petitioner was arrested by the Annamalai Nagar Police, for the offence under Section 20(i)(b) NDPS Act in Cr.No.122 of 2015. The petitioner is an innocent person and falsely implicated in the case and released on bail after three days. The petitioner approached the University to attend the 8th Semester Examination i.e, final semester, but the University authority directed the petitioner to contact the first respondent. The petitioner contacted the first respondent, but the first respondent refused to permit the petitioner to appear for the examination without giving any explanation. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

4.Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents/University submitted a letter dated 23.03.2016 stating that the petitioner has secured required attendance for more 80% (i.e, 86%) and eligible to write both theory and practical final semester examination. However, the learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the respondents have no objection for permitting the petitioner to write theory and practical final semester examination.

5.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the respondents, I am of the opinion, there is no need to pass any specific orders in this writ petition. Hence, recording the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents that they have no objection for permitting the petitioner to write theory and practical final semester examination, this writ petition is closed.
