Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to sanction family pension on account of the demise of the petitioner's husband - P.M.Dorairajan, who was in receipt of pension after his retirement by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.10.2021.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to sanction family pension to the petitioner on account of the death of her husband - P.M.Dorairajan, who was in receipt of pension.

2. It can be seen from the affidavit filed in support of the petition that the petitioner's husband was working as General Manager in the Postal Department. Prayer for grant of family pension is nothing but a service matter. The petitioner has to only approach the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). It is stated that subsequently, the said office has been taken

over by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. Even then, the petitioner has to approach the CAT. When the same was brought to the notice by this Court, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this Writ Petition and to file such Original Application before the CAT.

3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn, with such liberty as prayed for. No costs.
